The Texas Hill Country is a twenty-five county region of Central Texas and South Texas featuring karst topography and tall rugged hills consisting of thin layers of soil atop limestone or granite. The area is known for its caverns, rivers, streams and springs, and spring wildflower displays. Wildlife includes white-tailed deer and its spring and fall bird migrations. Nature destinations include numerous state parks and private locations such as Block Creek Natural Area (BCNA).
