George, after retiring in 2002 from a successful engineering career, turned a life-long hobby into a full-time profession. An early convert to digital, he was part of the Great American Photography Workshops team for eleven years teaching tours and workshops. Starting in urban photography – mostly black and white – George dipped his toe into color landscape photography over twenty-five years ago and decided he liked it enough to adopt it as a specialty. He still enjoys black and white and for the past several years has experimented with infrared photography dedicating one camera body for IR.
He is well versed in post processing software, especially Adobe Lightroom, and enjoys the freedom to make image adjustments based on personal preference but stresses “getting it right” as much as possible in capture. George is passionate about teaching and enjoys sharing his experience as well as his well-honed technical knowledge.
He is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association, Photographic Society of America, Professional Photographer’s Association and ASMP and is the founder of American Nature Photography Workshops. His work is represented by Danita Delimont Stock Photography.
