Bob has taught photography for more than 30 years, first to university students, later to people traveling to special environments around the world. With a background in both photography and tourism planning, Bob and his partner, Diane, are able to plan and lead superior photography adventures – thinking through the challenges of getting to the right place at the right time – but also securing the infrastructure needed to move with cameras and download and recharge.
As a photographer that cut his teeth in film, he is at home with a view camera or the latest mirrorless – and can help you master photography beyond the “auto” modes on your camera.
As lifelong conservationists, Bob and Diane design and lead photography adventures and safaris to very special natural places, and events – with the aim to create opportunities for outstanding photography while contributing to the well-being of the ecosystems and species we visit. We work hard to make sure revenues “stick” to the local economy, as those who live in special places should be enabled and inspired to care for the resources.
We design photography adventures and safaris for small groups. About 80% of the participants you will meet on our tours have been with us before – most several times. Most build relationships with each other, share images, and communicate after tours – many planning subsequent forays together.
We are interested in you, as a photographer and traveler, and will work to build your skills at both – although we won’t push you if you are already comfortable with your field skills.
