We regularly lead natural history photo tours around the world. Our travels have taken us to Belize, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Galapagos Islands, Kenya, Madagascar, Mexico, Patagonia, South Africa, Tanzania, Tobago, Trinidad and Venezuela. In the USA we have photographed in the great majority of the national parks. We were privileged to be the founding professional photographers for Canon’s Photography in the Parks program to teach photo seminars in Great Smoky, Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks in a summer long program. We have written many books (and do all of the photography) primarily on national parks.
Currently we are doing a series of National Park Nature Guides and Wildflower guides for Falcon Press and have finished guides on Blue Ridge Parkway, Rocky Mountain, Shenandoah, Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks. Other books we have done include guides and children’s books on Great Smoky Mountain, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Teaching comes naturally as we are both biology professors and also head up the Outdoor and Nature Photography Careers Certificate program at Lord Fairfax Community College. Many of our students have gone on to become award winning professional photographers.
On our tours we constantly help our participants get the very best images they can get. Since we are biologists we can put names on the organisms you photograph so you can include that in your IPTC data.
We both love to have fun so if you want to have a good time and learn a bunch come join us on a nature photography adventure to one of the greatest shows on earth. We only go to the very best places and as May West said “you only live once but if you do it right, once is enough.” – Ann and Rob
