As a benefit to members, NANPA offers the following insurance plans. Except where noted, insurance plans only available to US-based members. All applications are checked against NANPA’s membership list to ensure the members-only benefit.
Equipment insurance
NANPA offers a camera equipment insurance program that is underwritten by Chubb for members in both the United States and Canada. Please click on the appropriate link based on your country of residence for more information about the program.
We are pleased that Cross Insurance, Inc. is able to offer a camera equipment program to NANPA members that is underwritten by Chubb. The Photographers Equipment Insurance Program offers insurance custom-tailored for the NANPA photographer, including worldwide protection and 24-hour claim reporting.
This program was developed in association with NANPA, the specialists at Cross Insurance, and with Chubb. Both Cross and Chubb are known for the quality of service they provide and for their innovative insurance solutions – Cross as a premier independent insurance agency, and Chubb as one of the insurers of choice among many commercial and personal insurance clients around the world.

Front Row Insurance Brokers offers Canadian photographers a camera equipment program that is underwritten by Chubb. NANPA members receive a special discounted rate in all provinces except QC, ON, SK, NB (where financial regulations prohibit discounts on insurance products). The insurance program offers the advantage of online shopping with low rates, a low $350 deductible on equipment, flexible options and a policy in minutes. All equipment is full replacement cost coverage for theft, damage, fire and loss of use.
In most cases, there is no need to speak to a broker and an insurance company underwriter is not involved so the cost to process an insurance policy is much less online and we have passed the savings on in the form of a less expensive policy.
Please note that coverage under this program is only available for Canadian residents and these provinces are excluded: QC, ON, SK, NB.
Professional insurance
Cross Insurance also offers two types of business insurance for nature photographers: Liability insurance for workshops/tours in the US and Canada offered by nature photographers and a Business Owner’s Policy covering business property and liability.
Administered by Cross Insurance and underwritten by Philadelphia Insurance Companies, we are pleased to offer the NANPA Photographic Workshop and Tours Program to NANPA members. This program is specially designed to address the distinct liability exposures inherent to guided workshops and tours. Liability limits are available up to $1,000,000 and coverage is available for tours operated in the U.S. and Canada.
A Business Owner’s Policy combines business property and business liability insurance in one convenient policy. The policy helps protect the property your business owns, leases or rents, including things like buildings, equipment, inventory, furniture and fixtures. Additionally it provides business liability insurance that helps cover your business in the event it is sued for causing harm to a person and/or damage to property. It also helps cover the cost of your defense. Many options coverage enhancements are also available.
Travel insurance
Nature photographers travel… a lot! We are pleased to offer our members trip insurance provided by USI Affinity | Travel Insurance Services.

Health insurance
The NANPA Member Health Insurance Program is administered by JLBG Health, formerly Affinity Health Plans and USI Affinity. With multiple plans and an extensive network of national providers (more than 750,000), the NANPA Member Health Insurance Program is one of the most comprehensive programs available. The plan features extensive PPO networks, worldwide coverage, prescription coverage, multiple deductible options, and a 10% healthy member discount. Also included are preventative services and optional health savings accounts.
The plan also provides you with express member health plan proposals and enrollment. With TeleExpress Member Enrollment, you can build your health plan, submit an application for coverage and be approved in as little as 24 hours.
