Wildlife Photography Opportunities Along California’s Central Coast with Diana McPherson

November 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST

During the winter, the Central California Coast is a haven for wildlife, and Morro Bay is at the center of the action. Monarch butterflies have migrated to the security of the eucalyptus groves, while many bird species have migrated here to feast along the shoreline and estuary. Elephant seals return to their rookery to give birth, while a pair of peregrine falcons prep their nest on the high reaches of the infamous landmark, Morro Rock. Sea otters float throughout the bay grooming, breaking open mollusks, or supporting their fluffy pups.

Join Diana McPherson, wildlife and conservation photographer, marine biologist, and native Californian, as she presents the wildlife photography opportunities found on the Central Coast of California and offers a sneak peak at her upcoming 2026 NANPA photo tour to the Morro Bay, California area.
