Wildlife of San Juan Island, Washington

March 13 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Join photographer, marine biologist, and environmental educator, Diana McPherson, as she shares the richly diverse wildlife around San Juan Island. San Juan Island lies off the mainland coast of Washington state in the beautiful Salish Sea where the popular Southern Resident Orcas reside most of the year.

During the webinar, she’ll discuss the year-round wildlife inhabitants and seasonal migratory visitors you’re likely to see there and how to best photograph them whether you’re hiking, kayaking, or boating. For those inspired by this talk, this June, Diana will be leading a NANPA Regional Event to photograph Wildlife of San Juan Island and in the webinar she will also provide information about that event for those interested in joining her photographing in the field.

Diana has lived in the Pacific Northwest for ten years. Before becoming a PNW resident, she has been a frequent visitor to San Juan Island since college, her first trip being a kayak tour to paddle among the orcas and later to participate in the ongoing photo ID research.
