I can still remember how amazing it was to watch the graceful flight of these Laysan Albatross. I don't think I've ever seen a bird fly quite like that, it was mesmerizing to watch! I grabbed this image in the last rays of golden sunlight shining on the colony. The background mountains were already in shade from some clouds so they made for a moody deep blue background. I can't wait to get back to this location again next year and share these amazing birds with the group that will be joining me! Join Ray for an experience you will never forget! Get ready for elegant and huge Laysan Albatross gliding gracefully in the air literally feet over your head! Mountains rise up from the sea for a rugged and stunning coastline that will be the backdrop for your time with these incredible sea birds! Not only will you see the adult Laysan Albatross but you will also see their large fuzzy chicks. Groups of adults will be greeting each other with some of the most silly behavior you’ve seen from birds. Wedge-tailed Shearwater slice through the air as well as the sun gets closer to setting. You will also get to photograph Red-tailed Tropicbirds flying along the suggest coastline and enjoy the stunning White Terns nesting in trees in an urban environment. Lastly you will get a chance to photograph some of the songbirds and endemic birds of Hawaii during this workshop.
