Brooks Falls-Katmai National Park with Jerry and Barb Jividen

This trip package begins with your arrival in Anchorage, where lodging and orientation are included. You will fly the next day from Anchorage to the Village of King Salmon. From the moment you arrive in this remote outpost, trip leaders and guides will be on standby to start an unforgettable photo adventure, beginning with an opportunity to travel by boat along the Naknek River, where eagles, brown bears, and other native wildlife can typically be seen.
Four more days of photography are planned for the Katmai area, and five night’s lodging is included at King Salmon. Upon arriving daily at Brooks Camp, you’ll make your way to the famous viewing platforms of Brooks Falls, where brown bears gather to fish for salmon in the rushing water. The sight of these massive creatures standing in the falls, lunging at leaping fish, or engaging in territorial disputes is nothing short of mesmerizing. With patience and careful composition, you can capture dramatic action shots, intimate portraits, and behavioral interactions that tell the story of survival in the wild. Along the one-mile path and boardwalk, photographers often see and photograph other compelling wildlife scenes, including from the Riffle’s Platform and other stops
