Alaska Photo Adventures with Ron Levy — Katmai, Lake Clark, Kenai Peninsula
June 1 @ 12:00 pm - September 30 @ 11:59 pm EDT
Premium 5-7-day, small group, bucket-list photography tours — the BEST bang for your money! Alaska Photo Adventures (APA) takes you through several hundred miles of southcentral Alaska, Katmai & Lake Clark National Parks, Brooks Falls or similar salmon-waterfall hotspots, and Kenai Peninsula to photograph brown bears, wildlife, fjords, helicopter aerials, dogsledding on a glacier and more!
As the only multi-day tours based on the Kenai, APA is closest to the bears and wildlife that other tours visit from Anchorage. That means less time commuting back to the city and more time shooting in great light or when the animals and “synchronicity” all come together. Timing and personal connections with the right people are some of the keys to our successful photo tours. With a little luck, we have found bonus animals like lynx, newborn caribou and “herds” of mountain goats. Not locked into one location or bear camp, we take advantage of where the action is best and/or weather is better (Murphy gets frustrated with us).
Led by long-time Alaska resident, photographer, and instructor, Ron learned the best places and times to find and photograph wildlife when he began working as a Park Ranger for the NPS, USFWS and USFS over 40 years ago. He has participated, assisted and led nature, historical and wildlife hikes, day and overnight tours for over 35 years now in Alaska, California, Arizona and Ecuador. He has done editorial and commercial assignments for over 30 years, and been an Associated Press stringer and photo instructor for University of Alaska. His images have been published by most of the major nature, travel and conservation publications worldwide, and he has been a winner in contests such as Nature’s Best and BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year since 1988.
As a travel, wildlife, conservation photographer, Ron knows how to plan, find and deliver what photographers want and how to integrate individual preferences into a fun, productive experience for all. Living on the Kenai Peninsula and Alaska since 1981, he knows the logistics and personnel to contact to find animals in places others don’t. “My goal is to maximize your time with animals and great scenery during your short time in this incredible place”.
Participant comments: “Thank you for a fantastic tour! Excellent personal attention, GREAT animals”… “worth every penny”… “Ron knows photography and has the ability to communicate eloquently and put people at ease”… “a wonderful hands-on learning experience!”
Contact APA with any questions and we’ll be glad to help. Private, customized tours also available.
