Mount Rainier appears as mist rises off a lake at dawn, Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington, USA An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the icon of Washington state and the entire Pacific Northwest. The national park is a favorite destination of mine and I’ll never tire of shooting there. At sunrise the peak was initially obscured in fog; as the sun came up it broke, giving me a misty, moody reflection that only adds to the already dramatic vista.

Join legendary photographer Art Wolfe next July for an immersive small group photography workshop set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Mount Rainier. Known for its dramatic landscapes and fleeting summer blooms, Mount Rainier offers a variety of opportunities for photographers of all skill levels.

Timed to coincide with the peak of the wildflower season, this workshop will guide you through alpine meadows bursting with color—vibrant lupine, paintbrush, and avalanche lilies creating dreamlike compositions beneath the towering peak of Rainier. Early risers will be rewarded with a serene sunrise session, where the mountain glows with soft pastels and golden light spills across the valleys.
