Indonesia: Borneo and East Java with Jackie Schletter

Explore two of Indonesia’s most remarkable ecosystems while advancing your wildlife and nature photography skills in the field. This experience focuses on the diverse primates, birds, reptiles, and rainforest life of Borneo as we travel and stay on a klotok boat along with the unique volcanic and montane habitats of East Java. Our days include ethical wildlife viewing, naturalist-guided excursions, and hands-on instruction in composition, fieldcraft, timing, behavior, and low-light techniques.

You’ll photograph orangutans, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, frogs, and more in the surreal landscapes surrounding Java’s volcanic regions, all while receiving individualized support in the field. The itinerary is designed around small groups, real-time coaching, and building confidence in a variety of conditions.
