1) Give us a brief overview of your job, photographic, educational, volunteer, organizational board/committee skills, etc.

I founded Experience Wildlife, my conservation wildlife photography business 20 years ago. During that time I have photographed in 6 continents. I have led photography tours and workshops throughout the world. I have worked for organizations such as the Cheetah Conservation Fund to support their mission to saving cheetahs in the wild. I have exhibited my fine art photography in shows and displayed in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. I have spoken at bird festivals and photography conferences as well as online for such organizations as Cornell University Bird Academy and the Audubon Society. I have written articles for such publications as the Journal of Wildlife Photography, Outdoor California Magazine and Outdoor Photographer Magazine. I have had my images published online in Gizmodo, WIRED, The New Yorker and National Geographic. I have volunteered for several organizations including, serving as the Ethics Committee Chair for NANPA, College Program Mentor, the CCF Texas Chapter Leader and Girls Who Click Mentor Photographer.

4) Have you served as a NANPA volunteer or worked on a NANPA committee?  If so, please describe

I have served on the NANPA Board of Directors for the past 3 years
I have served as the NANPA Ethics Committee Chair since 2018
I was a NANPA College Program Mentor in 2024
I was a webinar host volunteer in 2019
I have been a Regional Event leader in 2021, 2024, 2025, 2026
I was a speaker for the NANPA Summits in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2024

5) What particular expertise and/or qualities would you bring to the NANPA Board?
As a long time member of the NANPA community I have had the privilege of working closely with several of the different NANPA committees. I have a very good understanding of the direction that NANPA is going and with my exceptional leadership skills I have successfully led NANPA towards achieving some very big goals. I believe I can continue to use these skills to move NANPA even further as a leading organization in the photography community.

6) Serving on the NANPA board does involve a time commitment.  Do you feel that at this time in your life/career, you can dedicate the time to ensure NANPA’s continued growth and success?

Yes, I have balanced working on the NANPA board in the past and I feel I have the balance to continue to give NANPA the time it is required.

7) How would you use your abilities to further the NANPA Mission?

As a leading expert in Nature Photography Ethics I feel I would continue to help lead NANPA as the “go to” resource for ethical photography field practices. As a photography educator I feel I can use my skills to support NANPA’s mission to provide education, foster professionalism and disseminate information.

8) How do you envision NANPA’s role in the future of nature photography?  How would you further that role?

I see NANPA as the leading organization for all things nature and conservation photography related. I believe using my experience and expertise I can help NANPA further that goal.

9) Why do you want to serve on the NANPA Board of Directors?

I want to continue to help NANPA grow and create programs that will benefit not only all nature photographers but the habitats and communities that nature photographers work in. I would personally like to see through the completion of the NANPA Ethics Handbook and see this resource get into the hands of all who work in nature.
