Susan Day Bio Photo

Susan Day, Executive Director

Susan Day is an award-winning writer and photographer specializing in backyard wildlife. Her images have been published worldwide in magazines, calendars, ads, and as 10’ murals in medical facilities. She’s written hundreds of articles, been a book consultant, editor and proofreader, and wrote “The Wildlife Gardener’s Guide to Hummingbirds & Songbirds From the Tropics.”

Susan is a charter NANPA member and joined the Communications Committee during her first Summit in 1995. Since then she has worked on or chaired nearly every committee in NANPA and served 8 years on the board of directors (including Treasurer and President). She has been NANPA’s Executive Director since 2011.

 

Bethany Brucker, Bookkeeper

Bethany Brucker has over 30 years of experience in the accounting field, she worked in public accounting for over 20 years where she had a variety of clients varying from non-profit organizations to medical practices. She has done extensive training in QuickBooks and has been a ProAdvisor for over twenty years. Bethany has four children and three adorable grandsons. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and going to antique auctions with her husband.

Frank Gallagher, Communications/Marketing Coordinator & Blog Editor

Frank Gallagher is a photographer and writer who lives in the Washington, DC, area. He works mainly with national and local nonprofit organizations but also teaches youth photography. Frank built up his photography business following a 25-year career in nonprofit associations focused on education and technology, during which he developed extensive experience in storytelling and communications.

Photography has been a passion of Frank’s since, as a child, he watched his dad carefully composing with a Speed Graphic. He co-leads NANPA’s DC area Meetup Group, enjoys travel and spending time with his wife—exploring new places and rediscovering old ones.
