A Message From NANPA President Coby Cooper

By September 26, 2024October 4th, 2024No Comments

As you are all likely aware, I began my role as the new President for NANPA July 1. I am looking forward to an incredible year as we progress with our relationship with ASMP and all the growth and excitement that brings. More on that later but let me take a moment to introduce myself for those I have not yet met.

I am predominantly a wildlife photographer, based in the Smoky Mountains, adjacent to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Following a 40 year career in broadcast video production and management, digital media and marketing, I retired to devote my time fully to my passion for photography.

I travel extensively as most of you also do, experiencing wildlife and nature in many of the world’s most interesting and spectacular locations. It is through that travel, as well as my experiences in our country’s National and State Parks, that I have developed my passion for the preservation and promotion of these environments. I eagerly look forward to promoting the goals and tenets of NANPA, established over its long history.

NANPA is an amazing organization for professional and amateur photographers alike and has been made stronger, more viable and sustainable by the work of every prior administration… none more so than the last administration headed by Beth Huning. I have had the pleasure and honor to serve on Beth’s board, as well as her Vice President most recently and I must take a moment to thank Beth for her vision, outstanding leadership, commitment and dedication to leading NANPA over the last two years to new heights. NANPA and our entire membership owes a debt of gratitude for all she has done for our organization. Thank you Beth!

Our new board is also passionate about our future. Each member brings unique creative, administrative, business, leadership and visionary skills to the group as well as a passion for growing NANPA, is programs, benefits to membership and conservation efforts. I am proud and excited to have each as a member of the board. Rest assured that they each take their roles and responsibilities very seriously.

As we launch into the Fall there are so many things already well in the works…a newly expanded Showcase, additional regional events and a return to Tucson for what is shaping up to be a spectacular Summit next spring. I can’t wait for all that this year holds.
